Elizabeth has worked nationally as a mortgage loan underwriter for the past 23 years, as well as owning both a mortgage brokerage and processing firm. Her years of hands-on experience provide a rare indepth knowledge and allow her to teach from the perspective of both the lender and processor. Elizabeth's love for learning and teaching has found her a place at Mortgage Educators as one of Leslie's hand chosen few.

As a 30 year mortgage veteran by trade, Leslie Petersen founded Mortgage Educators in 1993. She has authored numerous training manuals, handbooks, workbooks, newsletters, and columns. She currently writes a bi-monthly column for the Mortgage Originator magazine, and is a featured speaker for Mortgage Speakers Bureau and Loan Officer Seminars. She has also presented and trained for various lenders and trade associations in more than 23 states since opening Mortgage Educators.

When she finds time, Leslie loves to hike, camp, ski, mountain bike, backpack, and seek other outdoor adventures with her husband. She lives in scenic Utah, close to her children and two adorable grandchildren.

Ron Winterton has served in many different areas in the mortgage industry over the last decade. His prestigious positions include serving on the State Board of Governors for the Utah Mortgage Lenders Association. He was President of the Utah County Chapter of the UMLA in 2001, co-chair on the UMLA State Legislative Committee, and chairman of the Parade of Homes Committee. He started in the mortgage business 11 years ago by taking a course from Leslie Petersen’s Mortgage Educators and currently owns American West Lending in Orem.

With his firm grasp on all areas of the mortgage industry coupled with the ability to teach complex concepts in an easy to understand manner, Ron is considered one of the most effective trainers in the market.
